Norfolk, VA - The City of Norfolk is currently accepting applications for its real estate tax relief program, specifically designed for senior and disabled residents. The program aims to alleviate the financial burden on eligible homeowners by providing tax relief. To qualify for the program, residents must meet certain criteria.

According to the official guidelines, applicants must be either 65 years of age or older or totally and permanently disabled. Additionally, homeowners must reside in the property for which they are seeking tax relief. The combined income of the owners and any relatives living in the home must not exceed $67,000 per year. It is important to note that the net worth, excluding the home, should not exceed $350,000.

In order to be considered for tax relief in the upcoming fiscal year, which runs from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025, residents must apply for the program annually.
